Pets and Fireworks
6/22/2018 (Permalink)
The Fourth of July may be a fun time filled with grilling, family, and fireworks. One member of your family that may not be having such a good time is your pet. Fireworks and Fourth of July festivities can cause undue stress for cats, dogs, and other animals. Here are some tips to keep them safe:
- Never take a pet to a fireworks display
- Keep your pet in a safe room in your home insulated from sound if you let off fireworks
- Make sure your pet has an ID tag just in case they run off during a display
- NEVER let off fireworks near pets!
Also keep in mind: although many fireworks are legal in the state of WV, any that are loud or go up in the air violate Huntington city code. Folks who use them are subject to stiff fines and penalties, so be aware!
