Although it's not common, hurricanes have hit our area before.  Here's a handy list.  As well as the occasion hurricane, we've also been hit with derechos and other harmful weather patterns.  If you find one on the way this summer, here's how to prepare your house:

• Reinforce your garage door
• Fix any loose tiles
• Trim your tree of any dead limbs
• Take inventory of your home
• Reinforce your windows with plywood
• Don't forget to reinforce glass doors too!
